Solectria Renewables Sponsors Team Massachusetts in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon
Lawrence, MA – September 22, 2011 – Solectria Renewables, LLC, the leading U.S. PV inverter manufacturer, announced today that it is sponsoring Team Massachusetts in the U.S. Department of Energy’s annual Solar Decathlon by donating an integrated inverter panel with 2, PVI 4000 inverters, SolrenView web-based monitoring, a weather station and over 200 hours of engineering consulting and construction management. The amount donated to Team Massachusetts exceeds $25,000.
The Solar Decathlon challenges twenty collegiate teams from around the world to design, build and operate solar-powered houses that are cost effective, energy-efficient and attractive. The program is designed to educate students and the general public on the innovative options for building sustainable communities. The house designed by Team Massachusetts is comprised of students from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell and the Massachusetts College of Art.
The Team Massachusetts house will be a net-zero home and is currently under construction in Washington, D.C. It will be completed for the 2011 Solar Decathlon event, which will take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from September 23 to October 2, 2011.
