MEET OUR TEAM | Vern Walsh Senior Field Service Technician Vern Walsh joined Yaskawa - Solectria Solar in the summer of 2011 as a Field Service Technician and has risen to his current position of Senior Field Service Technician. Vern started his career in 1998 at On-Queue Computer as a computer technician. There, he fixed and refurbished high end Hewlett-Packard Unix work stations and servers. He worked his way up to the Lead Technician, then on to the Warehouse Manager. In 2003, Vern moved on to Retrievex, a medical records storage company. He began as an off-site project manager, travelling to medical facilities and managing a team of employees. Vern was then promoted to Shredding Operations Manager, overseeing the entire shredding division of the company. After leaving Retrievex, Vern continued his education. In 2011 he graduated from North Shore Community College’s Energy Utility Technology program. The program focused on the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. Following graduation, he interned at National Grid’s Training Facility in Millbury, Massachusetts where he participated in electrical lineman training. Following his internship at National Grid, Vern joined Yaskawa- Solectria Solar as a member of the growing field service team to provide field service for products. His knowledge of Solectria products and experience in the field are invaluable to the Technical Support and Service team. Vern grew up and continues to live in Massachusetts. When not providing excellent field service to customers, Vern enjoys spending time with his family and three children, fishing, kayaking, going to the beach, a good laugh and spending time at his camp in Maine. |
