Using Y-Connectors in String Inverter Systems
In the July/August 2016 Edition of SolarPro, Eric Every, Senior Applications Engineer at Yaskawa - Solectria Solar, writes about using Y-connectors in string inverter PV systems. Eric explores cases in which PV system designers should use Y-connectors, what the code implications may be, how they may be used with internal inverter combiners and the realized cost savings associated with using them.

PV Inverter Blog Launch

We officially launched our new PV Inverter blog in May! Since its inception, there have been posts about effective grounding and NEC 2014. Our goal is to focus on top industry topics, news, recently installed projects and life at Yaskawa – Solectria Solar.  Readers are able to subscribe to the blog in which contributors (both from Yaskawa – Solectria Solar and industry collaborators) will keep you up to date on the latest trends, events, research and other relevant topics. We're looking forward to adding to this blog over the next few months, especially during Intersolar and SPI.

We are ONE MILLION STRONG (and growing)

Solar has become a major energy source in the United States. In May, the U.S. reached 1 million solar installations and the numbers continue to grow. It took 40 years to get to 1 million installations, but we will reach 2 million installations much sooner.  According to the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), the industry will reach this landmark in 2018.  We would like to thank everyone in the industry for contributing to this amazing growth.  Here are a few more facts from SEIA:           Want to know more?
